Dakota Fanning


Dakota Fanning (lahir dengan nama Hannah Dakota Fanning; lahir 23 Februari 1994; umur 16 tahun) adalah aktris muda Hollywood yang dianggap jenius dalam bidang akting. Dia adalah kakak dari Elle Fanning yang memiliki profesi serupa dengannya.


Muncul secara cemerlang dan dikenal luas lewat aktingnya yang menawan di I Am Samsebagai Lucy, anak dari seorang penderita keterbelakangan mental yang diperankan olehSean Penn pada tahun 2001.
Sebagai artis cilik, ia muncul dalam film-film berlevel tinggi semacam Man on FireWar of the Worlds, dan Charlotte's Web. Fanning mulai beralih ke peran-peran yang lebih dewasa dalam Hounddog dan The Secret Life of Bees. Ia telah memenangi berbagai penghargaan dan merupakan aktris termuda yang pernah dinominasikan dalam penghargaan Screen Actors Guild

Dakota Fanning lahir di Conyers, Georgia. Ia merupakan putri Joy Arrington, seorang petenis profesional dan Steve Fanning, pemain liga baseball minor St. Louis Cardinals dan sekarang bekerja sebagai penjual barang elektronik di Los Angeles, California. Kakek dari pihak ibunya adalah mantan pemain sepakbola Amerika, Rick Arrington, dan bibinya adalah mantan reporter ESPN, Jill Arrington. Dakota adalah kakak perempuan dari Elle Fanning, juga seorang aktris.
Ayahnya ingin agar ia dinamai "Dakota" dan ibunya ingin menamainya "Hannah".
Fanning memiliki keturunan separuh Jerman dan nama belakangnya berasal nama Amerika Irlandia. Gereja Fanning dan keluarganya adalah Southern Baptist. Ia bersekolah di Cambell Hall School di Hollywood Utara, California, dan merupakan anggota regu pemandu sorak.

Fanning mulai berakting pada usia lima tahun setelah muncul dalam iklan komersial televisi, Tide.
